How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Open Offtab on the new phone and go to the Plus paywall (Settings has a link to it if you’re already using the app). Tap Restore Purchases and Offtab checks the App Store for a Plus purchase tied to your Apple Account, then unlocks it — no account or sign-in of any kind is needed, because there is no Offtab account.
How do I turn on iCloud backup, and how do I restore from it?
In Settings, open iCloud backup and switch on Keep a backup in iCloud. Your ledger, accounts, commitments, budgets and display preferences are encrypted on your iPhone and then sent to a private area of your own iCloud — Offtab has no server in the path and can’t read it.
To restore, open the same iCloud backup screen on the phone you want to restore to. If a backup is waiting, Offtab shows what it contains and offers a Restore this backup button. Restoring replaces what’s on that phone with the backup, so Offtab shows you exactly what’s about to change before you confirm.
How do I export my data (CSV or JSON)?
In Settings, open Export your data, choose CSV or JSON, and share or save the file from the share sheet. Exporting is completely free and unlimited on every tier, forever — it’s your data, and getting it back out never costs anything.
How do I delete all my data?
In Settings, Erase all entries empties your ledger on that iPhone; this can’t be undone. If iCloud backup is on, the next backup will replace your iCloud copy with the emptied ledger too, so turn backup off first if you want that copy kept. To remove a backup from iCloud directly, use Delete backup from iCloud on the iCloud backup screen. Deleting the app itself removes everything left on the device, but not a backup already sitting in your iCloud — delete that separately if you want it fully gone.
How do I cancel my Plus subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Offtab. On your iPhone, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions, choose Offtab, and cancel there.
Why isn’t the smart assistant available on my iPhone?
Offtab’s smart assistant runs the language model built into iOS itself, entirely on your device. It needs iOS 26 on a device capable of Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence switched on in Settings. If any of those isn’t true — an older iPhone, an older iOS version, or Apple Intelligence turned off — Offtab falls back to its own built-in parser, which still understands plain sentences like “spent 12.40 at mcdonalds” without needing the model at all.
What’s free and what’s Plus?
Free, forever, unlimited: logging entries, typing a sentence and having it filed, and exporting your data. That’s the core of Offtab and it’s never gated.
Free also includes: 1 bank account beyond cash, 3 budgets, 1 debt tracked, 3 recurring subscriptions watched, 10 receipt scans (for the life of the install, not per month), the Light and Dark themes, and 2 months of history (this month and last). The on-device smart assistant is free on every tier where your hardware supports it — it’s not something Plus sells.
Plus removes those ceilings: every card and account (unlimited bank accounts, all typed in by you; there is no bank login), charts and insights for up to 12 months with trend comparisons that reach further back than the free window, unlimited budgets, debts and recurring subscriptions, unlimited receipt scanning, and all 6 themes (the other 4 include true black for OLED). Logging from outside the app — the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the Control Center control, and asking Siri — is free on every plan. Each one just opens Offtab ready for your entry. Importing a ledger from elsewhere isn’t built yet.
